I am brand new to this so I hope that I am asking this question in the correct area.

I have recently had to back up my online shop and then re-install as some files had been infected by viruses,

Since the shop has been re-installed everything appeared to be working correctly until I have gone to add some more products and update the stock quantities in the back office.

So I have 2 issues:

1, When I update the quantity in stock, I am getting the "Successfully Updated" green bar at the top but when I refresh the page on my website it is not updating ??

2, When I add a new product it appears in the back office fine, but is not appearing on my website at all ??

Is this likely to me a database issue ? If so, any ideas on a fix?

In the 1.6 backoffice in the dashboard screen, on the right hand side bar displays "prestashop news"  I can't find instructions for either editing the words and links or disabling that function. 

Can someone please provide instructions where to find the file for editing & instructions for editing?

all is working fine except the stats tools witch displays my server ip adress every time.

i have also add PIWIK to monitor my prestashop shop and PIWIK displays the good IP : my customers real ip.

I don't know where to start because the issue is apparent on all drop down boxes.  I think this is a global issue with 1.6.  Has this already been addressed?

Lastly everything is fine on iPhone-Safari and Android-Chrome-Opera-Dolphin but the Blue Earth Browser that has Internet under it on Android phones is the one that most people are using and my customers aren't able to complete orders or register when using it.

Just wanna share how i managed to solve the "Connection was reset" error.

This was happening randomly on my site, when i logged out (didnt work), updating translations, etc.

When i enabled debug, it didnt show anything, my apache logs was empty, so it was a huge bug without a trace.

Solved by setting my memory_limit a little lower, e.g, from 2048M to 1024M in my PHP.ini

My VPS has 4GB memory, so the 2048M that crashed my site randomly, wasnt even close to use it all.

Hope it will help somebody out there.

But it does not work in Prestashop 1.6 (it produces a syntax error). Neither do the other suggestions in 1.5 forum topics that I have found.

In the 1.6.0.7 backoffice, for the advanced parameters > CSV import,  I can't find instructions for editing some of the link for that file.

NOTE: I have searched  the translations in detail and can't find the translation area to edit. 

Its for the following:

I'm using prestashop 1.6  and since a couple of days i can't upload any jpg or gif images to the categories or products anymore.

the message wich appears is: format isnt recognized, it should be gif, jpg or png.

but i know 100% for sure that it is a jpg.

I have a problem with the color attributes in PS 1.6.0.8.

The color buttons won't show the color attached to it. The links work well and the layered nav block shows the name of the colors with a thickbox, so not the tiles with the colors.

The colors will show at the back-end in the attribute list.

I tried to make some translations on a 1.6.0.6 on shared hosting, when I received the

Failed opening required 'path/to/site/public_html/tools/tar/Archive_Tar.php'

message. I fired my FTP client - the file was not there. No problem, I reuploaded it. Tried again, same message. Checked directory, file is not there. WTF? I reuploaded it. This time I refreshed the view and, sure enough, the file disappeared. Thinking there's some misunderstanding with the server security, I started to cut text from within the file and reupload after every cut. Soon enough, I discovered that the server didn't like this expression from Archive_Tar.php:

symlink(

I uploaded an Archive_Tar.php that contained only the expression above and the server promptly killed it. OK. In order to use the symlink() function on that server, it must not use the killing-trigger string from above.

One way is to use the call_user_func_array() PHP function. In 1.6.0.6, at line 1679 in /tools/tar/Admin_Tar.php, you have

if (!@symlink($v_header['link'], $v_header['filename'])) {

Replace it with

if (!@call_user_func_array('symlink', array($v_header['link'], $v_header['filename']))) {

Replace it, don't comment it, or else the server will still see the suposed threat and kill your Admin_Tar.php. It is still the same function, but thanks to the awesomeness of PHP we can just call it in a different way.

so after some problems with the csv import of 1.6.0.6, which was ending with internal server error after 120 seconds, where I tryed by changing php.ini:

max_execution_time = 300

max_memory_limit = 512M

and various attemps with random values,

every time the http 500 error, with

"Script timed out before returning headers: index.php, referer: ...."

inside the logs

Then Igave the login info, the file and instructions to my hosting support, and everything went fine from their side.

Yesterday I saw the new 1.6.0.8 release, so went with a fresh install. tryed to import the csv and page blank after few seconds with external links of images to import, or 60 seconds without them. all this for less than 150 products

I don't know what else to try, I tryed from another pc and same problem, also the debugging mode from define.inc.php doesn't work

I even thought might be a modem/provider problem...

I'm unable to add an address in the add address form (Back office) since everytime, I save it, it gives me an error that I must include First Name however that field isn't even available on the form for me to fill. I'm stuck in that mode and unable to add any addresses coz of it. Please help.

I've seen that the image URL is rewritten in:

http://mydomain.com/cs/img/cms/dikt.jpg - wrong url

but it should be:

http://mydomain.com/img/cms/dikt.jpg - correct url

Even if I try to change the image URL in tinyMCE - source code , it rewrites it...

My hosting provider provides me a secure url (https://bmindgamespt.securesitept.com) that points to my public www folder in apache (www.bmindgames.pt) where I have my PrestaShop installation.

I've configured my Shop Domain (under preferences->SEO & URLS) to be www.bmindgames.pt and my SSL Domain to be bmindgamespt.securesitept.com and have enabled SSL usage.

The site seems to work, but I've noticed some problems:

 - I can't logout. For what I have seen, the logout button points to a link under Shop Domain and it simply doesn't logout.

- After logging in and add some products to my Cart, when I navigate from My Cart to the Homepage (i.e., from https to http), I loose the login and the shopping cart info (User Name and number of items in the cart), but if I click any of those links (login or cart) and go back to My Cart or My Account page, I'm still logged in and my cart is ok.

My question is: Can I use this configuration in PrestaShop to enable SSL? Am I missing some configuration aspect? Or I simply can't use this Domain configuration at all?

There is a problem with the Wishlist function on my 1.6x install.

Customers can create (and delete) more than one Wishlist, but when they add a product to a Wishlist it's always added to the first Wishlist i.e. they cant select which Wishlist to add the product to?

Can anyone confirm that the Wishlist v.1.0 under PS 1.6.0.8 is working?

i want to make separate feature list for specific categories. i am adding a mobile phone, so it have more then 50 feature, and also want to add a T.V, Clothes, and more products from different categories , so all of them showing in feature list and it mix all feature in a single list, so there is any way to make categories of feature list so that we can find them easily. this is only mobile feature.

I got a product which has a 2 Combinations of weight. 100g pack (default) , and 200g pack .

100g pack - If I set wholesale on 10$ and retail 15$ , the Net profit calc. works fine. ( shows 5$ profit).

But option 200g pack ( wholesale 20$ ,retail is 30$ , profit 10$ , so I set Impact on price 15$ ) , Net profit calc. shows 20$ profit instead of 10$.  

It seems to take profit from 100g pack (5$) option and add price inpact (15$ ) , then it makes 20$ profit, which is not correct.

200g pack  - there is a box whole sale price , which says (Overrides the wholesale price from the "Prices" tab.),  but no metter I write in there, I doesnt have any impact on Net profit calc.

I'm a newbie at Prestashop. I've been trying to move the Top Menu to a new div I wanted to create because of design purposes. For that, I understand I need a new hook. I've been looking online and all the tutorials seem to be missing a piece or it's for 1.5. It's confusing as hell and in the 4 hours of struggle, I could not make my custom hook work.

1. so I added a new hook in the database ps_hook

name: displayMainMenu

2.  I overwrite my blocktopmenu php in override/classes/module

3. I overwrite my Front Controller php  in override/controllers/front

4. I add the hook to my header.tpl

I have this strange problem. I imported categories via CSV, then opened Categories page in back office - no records found. I thought maybe its bug with PS1.6, so updated it to latest 1.6.0.8 - the same. I thought maybe problem with CSV, so added category manually - suddenly all previous categories have appeared. Good, I thought, presssed Category page again - and again 0 categories. In addition, in front-office they are not showing in category block, but are showing in theme-custom category module, but clicking leades to 404.

Anyway to add category please?

I cannot edit an existing order by adding products.  For example, a customer just made an order and would like to add an extra product, when I select add product in the back office order, it simply does not do anything.

Clean install of 1.6.0.6

Our environment uses Nginx as a reverse proxy to serve static content (images mainly) and it trunks all active requests through to Apache.

If we turn on 'Friendly URLs' I lose images on the front end. If 'Friendly URLs' is off they work fine.

The generated .htaccess appears to be configured correctly in terms of rewrite syntax but I can't for the life of me get images to display with friendly urls switched on.

Any thoughts?

I'm wondering if Nginx as a reverse proxy is complicating matters. Unfortunately we can't turn this off at an account level as we're on dedicated hosting and Nginx is actively used by another account on the same physical server.

Any way to fix this?

I'm working on development on the new Prestashop 1.6.0.6. We have already an on-line shop @ http://gradina-viitorului.ro  with the 1.5.6 version and wanted to keep same layout but in the same time we wanted also the new fresh feel of the 1.6x because we loved the new look, design and simplicity.

So what blocked me here was that we were unable to see through the new superfish-modified.css. I simply cannot comprehend it because I barely managed to see though the old css file.

It was the most simple way that i could think of to do that but as a result it worked!

I tried to do the same aproach on the 1.6 version in..\themes\bootstrap\css\modules\blocktopmenu\css but that superfish-modified.css is above my reach.

So in short, would be a great thing that we could implement that same top menu within the 1.6x version. That's all I'm asking of you. If there's someone out there to give us a hand here we'd be very happy and pleased.

Ps: Working on XAMPP for 1.6x but we could put it online for testing.

After using the 1-click upgrade 1.3.12 to go from Prestashop 1.5.5 to 1.6.0.6 I am having a issue where my left column on the home page is not showing up. 

By default everything is hooked to the left and I made sure the modules are enabled but still I cant seem to get anything to show up.  I can hook them to the right and they show up with no prob on the front page. 

On the product pages left and right columns show up. Im just having the issue with the home page.

Ultimately I'm just trying to get the left column to show up in any theme specifically the categories. Thanks for any help that is offered.

It seems when every I try to add a product to the cart it takes on avg 9-10 sec.

Looking at Chromes "Inspect Element" it seems that the POST is taking the 9-10 seconds.

Any Ideas on how to fix this?

I am with A2 Hosting and they said there was no issues.

I'm on 1.6.0.6 and I'm trying to convert a cart into an order, but every time I click create order, I'm just taken to a blank page if I choose any other payment module except Bankwire. It will only create the order if the payment module selected is bankwire. But I need to be able to record the correct payment method.

After upgrading I've been having issues with the contact form. I get the messages submitted through the form in the BO but I'm not getting them in my email account. Before upgrading this worked with no issue. I've tried setting it up to use the SMTP Relay settings and with PHP mail. Both ways get the same result. If I run the Test Message, that works fine. Also, customers are getting their order confirmations just fine. 

 I have used multiple select input type in my modules configuration but when i submit it gives me only last selected options value inspite of all that are selected value for getting value I have used Tools::getValue() function. please give me some solution so that i can get all selected options value

the CSV import is a great tool and the 1.6 file format few columns to extend features. Accessories are available in PrestaShop but you need to add them manually one at the time.

I found only very few posts in the community, I can not be the first person with this need. Any suggestion or link?

Any module to manage accessories quickly or to mass upload accessories with the import CSV function?

I added 10 products to my site, but I can't seem to change the position of the products, there's one product I want above another one.

I though it was as simple as drag-n-drop, but I can't do that, and I can neither change the product ID.

So I add a image to the category and I want it to fill out the little box on the store. This works fine, but why on earth this same picture goes also on top of category text at the category page? Is there a way to add a image which does not go there?

I'm trying to sort the filters in "Layered navigation block" but the position I set it's not saving, I have the same problem when I try to set position of products in categories. Does anyone have the same problem or an idea about this "bug" ?

In the error log i find a lot of lines saying that there are files missiing:

...

There is also a referrer, I think it should be the page asking for those files; I go on it, look at the source code and there is no trace of those files. Also I've never seen the naming "2x" in Prestashop pictures... and I couldn't find it on Google as well. How could I debug this?

Can someone tell me how to disable automatic update of prestashop version. The Automatic Update reverting my customized theme. Is there any way to preserve the theme(like the child theme in wordpress) files after updating of prestashop ?

If I had to build a shop where I sell let's say furniture, and I have a table that has 3 different sizes I wouldn't just set an attribute like S, M, L, etc. People would rather look for its dimensions. So far I realise this is only possible via "product features", but this won't let me set no more than one dimension per product.

The two main problems are:

- I need one product, several combinations. Including dimensions.

- My shipping courier requires weight and dimensions to determine the product's shipping cost.

Does somebody went through this issue before or have a clue on how to proceed with these type of products?

I had the same problem when I was trying to add the shop logo and couldn't find how to do it and was about to go on the forum when the required information appeared in the themes modules and I was wondering if the same problem exists here with missing controls in the theme module.

Any feed back would be helpful as this banners at present are pretty useless with just temporary text that makes no sense to anyone.

When trying to re-arrange the colors under the color attributes the Ajax message shows "Update Successful" but when reloading the page the new order was not saved.

I need this solve ASAP. Please provide solution!

I have a problem installing statcounter code in prestashop 1.6.

I pasted the statcounter code in footer.tpl or header.tpl. However as prestashop is reordening inline javascript to the bottom of the page, the <scripts> and <noscripts> code blocks does not seem to be in the right order anymore for statcounter to function propperly.

Is there any work around?

I am getting wired problem in PS 1.6.

It takes almost 5 minutes to load category pages which have subcategories. You can check site http://goo.gl/d57amo and you can see Online Store and Knives loading very slow. While all other CMS pages and products pages loading faster.

can someone provide solution?

If John Doe recruits 3 friends, I'm not able to find any info that it was John Doe that referred them.

I need this info because if John Doe recruits 10 paying friends he will receive some gifts.

I know this info was possible to see in the earlier versions under the "Customers info" but now it's gone.

Any idea where it's gone?

I couldnt find  a solution to my problem I'm trying to import csv file whitch contains two languages LT and EN. One product has two descriptions and names in separate languages, how can I import those descriptions and names?

When I tried to access my admin page and log back in I get a parse error and cannot access the login page.

To fix this go to /classes/controller/admincontroller.php

Change line 3101:

$fields = $class::$definition['fields'];

to

$fields = $class->$definition['fields'];

it worked for me. was able to login without issues.

I need to edit admin login page for backoffice with 1.6.0.6. I would like to edit the page with changing the prestashop logo and links in the footer of the admin login page. 

Can someone please provide instructions where to find the file for editing?

I am using prestashop 1.6 on the default theme.

My problem is that when I wont to list all the articles in one category, it can't flip on next page, and don't alow me to list all articles on one page. It's loading non stop.

Can anyone know how to fix this problem?

In the 1.6.0.6 backoffice throughout, on the right hand side bar includes a graphic that says "Help"  I can't find instructions for either removing the graphic and links or disabling that function. 

Can someone please provide instructions where to find the file for editing & instructions for editing?

When I try to configure gapi I'm receiving this error

I asked for some help to this forum because the shipment cost don't work and the cart has everytime "shipment free". And, obviously, not one answer.

This a big problem.

Carrier is set.

Costs are set.

Each product has weight and size.

Cart everytime with free shipment.

I spent a lot of money in Prestashop, but I can't continue if the problems are not solved.

Someone has some hints?

My shop was uploading images great but then all of the sudden out of nowhere I started getting this error An error occurred while copying image.

The image is only 46kb I am trying to upload and attached is a screen shot of the error. A image is uploaded but it is a box with a question mark in it. 

please help with any advise on a fix for this.

after some issues with company-vat_number-and dni fields in registration

(not showing during the first registration process, after the registration is being done they show during applying changes to the address)

but the DNI - identification number is not being saved in the DB

UPDATE: If a country is set to  - need_identification_number - identification number will be stored in the DB

If a country is set to not mandatory dni - it will not be stored

It should be not difficult to tell Prestashop: save and get dni although not having been set as required for the country.

Maybe could someone help me to speed up my search - without your help I have to test everything through trial/error-method.

where I can find setting of auto-clean statistics in Prestashop 1.6.? In 1.5. it was in "Stats" - "Settings" - "Auto-clean period". There are 3 options (Week, Month, Year) but i 1.6. I can´t found these options. Thank you for answer.

I have a fresh install of Prestashop 1.6.0.6 and have just migrated our orders, customers and product data using Cart2Cart.

I am not sure if the stats were working correctly before the migration, because I was using demo data, which looked fine.

1) I note that the graphs in the dashboard are only displaying statistics encompassing the period from the date I installed Prestashop to now eg. 20 May - 18th June. Even though in the Product Sales information further down on the dashboard page seems to be correctly accessing the sales data for our whole trading time (around 5 years or so).

For example, if I click on Best Sellers on the dashboard page, I have a product that has sold 262 units - which I know to be about correct.

Similarly, the Top Sellers module does not display any information at all.

Clearly, the sales data is all there. In the migration, all of the orders etc transferred fine. And the fact that the best seller list on the dashboard is correctly querying and displaying the data means that the data is there to be accessed.

It seems that the graphs in the dashboard and the top sellers module is not looking in the correct places for the data.

Any ideas?

2) I also note that on the dashboard page, under recent orders, the date showing against the orders is the date the customer registered on the store and not the date of the order itself....

Are there any suggested fixes? Do some pages in the admin Back Office need to be told to look in other tables for the correct data?

It does not work for me... Eg. full delivered Supply Orders don't increase  the stock. When I increase the stock it's not increasing on the products. 

So before I spend way too much time on it, I just want to hear if there are any known issues?

I have found the only way to clear this is to run a integrity check in the data cleaner module. When I do that I get this response.

The following queries successfuly fixed broken data:
 

• DELETE FROM `ps_message` WHERE `id_cart` NOT IN (SELECT `id_cart` FROM `ps_cart`)
  1 line(s)

Once this has been completed the home page returns to normal.

I am using prestashop ver 1.6.0.6 with default theme and badly stuck to remove tax completely.   All taxes and tax rules are removed no tax on product also in localization country is set  (NO TAX).  On top corner cart, shopping-cart summary ... etc  no tax displayed on them but when you click on ADD TO CART (tax incl.) for product  & (tax excl.) for shipping are displayed.

if the setting in "All shops", i cannot alter/edit product>association>category.

       I want to add custom field when admin place new order in that order product have custom field only when my module is installed as well as enable otherwise it works as it is default, 

    How can i acheave this i have tried to override AdminOrdersController.php it partialy works but it also call template file (form.tpl) and i dont know how to over ride that template (form.tpl) file and where to place i have tried to place .tpl file to "{root}/override/controllers/admin/templates/orders/form.tpl" but it will not work

If I try to configure it (setting NO to send verification email and confirmation email) once saved I receive a confirmation message. But if I go again into the configuration page both settings are again on YES.

Any idea?
