Prestools was started in 2012 by putting together a small selection of tools for Prestashop. It has since grown steadily to become a comprehensive set of tools for maintaining Prestashop and Thirty Bees. It is one of the most popular downloads on the Prestashop forum.

Prestools does not support stock movement registration and PS 1.6 warehousing. So if your shop uses those features you should not use Prestools for any operation in which product quantities are changed.

Prestools operates outside the backoffice what allows it to be very fast. It supports multiple user accounts and logging.

The main parts are:

product-edit: great options for mass editing more than 50 product fields. Add categories, change prices, update descriptions - for hundreds of products at once. 

product csv: a flexible tool to generate csv files.

product-sort: an easy way to sort products inside a category. From position 500 to 1 in a blink. With the visual sort option you can see immediately how things will look.

prodcombi: edit and oversee properties of combinations of a number of products at once.

order-edit: adding and deleting products and changing prices without problems.

order-search: make a selection on carrier, payment type, status, etc. or just search. With csv export option.

category-edit: useful for editing metadata and descriptions for SEO

combi-edit: assign pictures to your combinations quickly

combi-copy and combi-delete: copy, modify and delete attribute combinations using one product as a template

attribute-list and feature-list: see how many products use each feature and attribute and get a product list.

regenerate images for selections of products

cleanup images: save on disk space by cleaning up images of deleted products

shop rescue: turn off overrides and non-Prestashop modules when due to some bug you can no longer login in the backoffce.

override-list and module-list: get lists of modules and of overrides and the modules might own them.

eu-tax: get a quick overview how much you sold in each of the EU countries and how much VAT you withheld in the process

integrity checks:  find and fix database and file corruption.

Installation: Unzip the downloaded file and copy the resulting files to a subdirectory below your admin directory (do not install as a PS module!).You can access the program in the browser like "www.myshop.com/myadmin/mydir/login1.php". You will be welcomed by a login screen: the default username is "demo@demo.com" and the default password is "opensecret". Please adapt your security settings in the "settings1.php" file. There is a mini-module included for integration into the backoffice.

There is a demo-installation available. Username and password are the default. Below you find a view of the product-edit page where the description field has been made editable:

Prestools is compatible with Prestashop 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 8 and Thirty Bees.

There are a few parts in product-edit that you need to buy at the Prestools website. However, over 95% of the script is free.

Among the files you will find a file prestoolssuite-module.zip. You can install this file as a module. It adds a link to your Prestools installation in the Catalog menu of the backoffice.

If you find a problem, please update Prestools to its latest version before you report it here. When reporting, please mention your Prestashop version.

The module allows you to protect registration and login forms from bots and spam. Limit the number of login and registration attempts.
Module protect and limits the use of contact form, newsletter registration form and modules 'productcomments', 'iqitreviews'.

I'd like to share Deadman Switch, a free module I just released that addresses a simple but often overlooked problem: what happens to your store when nobody is watching it?

💡 The problem

You go on holiday, your team is unavailable, something unexpected comes up… and your store keeps accepting orders you can't fulfill. The result: unhappy customers, bad reviews, disputes.

• Checks if it's a valid VAT number on the official VIES database
• Gives 0% tax if a VAT is verified
• Optionally assign a customer group if a valid VAT was provided
• Properly adds the 0% tax on the invoice
• Allows you to disable 0% for specific products
• Validates the company name matches the VAT number in the VIES database
• Optionally also sets the carrier tax to 0% when a valid VAT number has been provided
• Settings to select what address to check the VAT number 

In the settings of the module you fill in your companies Origin Country. Because you can't ship with 0% tax in the same country your company is based.
Every order is checked for their shipping address, NOT the invoice address.

Since the VIES database has some reoccurring offline time, there is an option in how to handle this.
Also keep in mind that not every country provides the company name when validating name/vat combination.

I’ve built a free, open-source Redis cache module for PrestaShop 8 and 9 and I’d like to share it with the community.

I couldn’t find any up-to-date free Redis integration for PS 8 or 9, so I decided to create one myself. The module plugs Redis into the PrestaShop cache layer and lets you:

use Redis via socket or host:port,

set a key prefix (multi-shop / shared Redis),

exclude specific tables/controllers from caching (cart, checkout, account, etc.),

see basic Redis stats in the back office.

• Use the search bar to find products by name or reference (supports multi-word AND search)
• Click Select All or manually check products from the results
• Click Assign Selected
• To remove a product, click the trash icon next to it

Assigning by Category

• Open an existing flag (edit mode)
• Select a category from the Assign by Category dropdown
• Click Assign Category to add all products from that category

Modification

You can edit CSS file (controllers/views/css/front.css) to adjust flags to your own preferences.

After installing the module you can find a HS code and a country of origin field in the back office for each product. (as show in the image above)
Afterwards you can easily add the HS code and country of origin on your delivery slips and/or invoices.

Installation
You can install this module on any Prestashop 1.7 and Prestashop 8 shop.

After installing the module you would have to manually edit the invoice/delivery slip template.
(because Prestashop does not allow this with the module installation)
In the module there is a folder called 'pdf' if you place this folder in your /themes/YOUR-THEME/ folder you are done.

This prestashop addon helps administrators to show interactive notifications regarding cookies used by stores as per EU Cookie Law compliance on bottom positions with a link to redirect the cookie policy page, management from the back-office with multiple options, and show different messages based on multiple store languages.

Cookies allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their computer and can be used to recognize patterns and tastes of the user. The user’s browser saves cookies on the hard drive only during the current session occupying a minimum memory space and without harming the performance of the user’s computer. Cookies do not contain any type of specific personal information.

In Europe, every website must show a banner to say that you are using cookies. There are different laws in different countries which means actually this banner must be implemented differently. But in most cases, it is enough to have just a banner that the user can close and won't see any more after the page reload.

Cookies enable websites to gather data about visitors and users. Cookies let websites remember you, your website logins, shopping carts, and more.

This module helps to show different language information based on store language. For example, the German language store will have messages in German, and the French language store will have messages in French.

Why This Module?:
Many email verification modules on the PrestaShop Addons Marketplace costy OR the free module was obsoleted, which can be prohibitive for small businesses or hobbyists. This free, open-source alternative delivers the same core functionality—secure email verification—without the hefty price tag. It’s a straightforward, server-side solution that I built to address my own needs and share with the community.

Known Issue:
After registration, the page does not automatically redirect to the homepage and remains on the registration page. This does not affect functionality, as the verification email is sent, and the account activates upon link click. There’s no ETA for a fix yet, but it’s on my radar. Contributions or suggestions via GitHub are welcome!

Future Plans:
If time permits, I plan to explore integrating a referral program module to complement this one, further enhancing customer engagement features for PrestaShop stores.

Here is a simple module that will allow you to apply additional validation to customer address fields.

In the first version it works like this:
1. You can validate the phone number using the libphonenumber library. It's a code based on how Google validates phone numbers on Android system, so quite a fancy tool. It works this way:
 - if the phone number has a country prefix (+XX), it is validated according to the rules for prefixed country
 - if the phone number does not have a country prefix, it is validated according to rules for the selected country in the form

2. You can validate the address1 field using a given (configurable) regular expression. The default one is actually quite simple and all it does is assuring that the address contains at least two letters and a number anywhere. It's mainly to make sure your customers will not omit home number in the address. Of course it's not perfect, but address validation is a hard task, that's why you can always customize the regular expression to your needs.

The module supports PrestaShop 8+ mainly because I am using the "lite" version of the libphonenumber library, which is quite new and requires PHP 8 to run.

After installing the module, you can adjust the error messages using the standard PrestaShop translation panel.

For a recent project, I needed a way to store and manage a unique customer identifier besides the standard email address. In my country (Chile), all the people have an ID called “RUT” (Rol Único Tributario) which, in the case of my project, is used to validate the customer’s identity to apply specific discounts and benefits. While PrestaShop already handles a field that could be used to store this identifier, it operates at the address level. This means that a customer can have multiple addresses with different DNIs, and its value can even be shared between different customers. So I decided to create a module with all the necessary validations and integrations to make it work seamlessly with the rest of the platform.

This module is called “Customer DNI.” The reason I named it “DNI” is that it’s a common term used in many countries to refer to a unique identifier for citizens. This module creates a new field at the customer level, with several options to configure its behavior:

• Validation options: Set the DNI as required, unique, and even validate it with a custom regular expression.
• Back office integration: View and edit the customer’s DNI directly from the customer list, where you can also filter and sort by this field.
• Address syncing: Optionally overwrite all existing address DNI fields whenever the customer’s DNI is updated. Very useful if you want to handle the DNI at the customer level, but still need to operate with the address DNI (for example, to generate invoices).
• Custom validators: Easily add your own validation logic with a custom PHP class (a Chilean RUT validator is already included as an example).
• Custom hooks for developers: Trigger custom actions whenever a DNI is saved or deleted, allowing deeper integrations with your own modules.
• Multilanguage support: Translate the DNI field label and validation messages to any language available in your shop.
• No core modifications: The module is built following PrestaShop’s best practices, so it doesn’t modify any core files. It also does not perform any overrides or change the default database schema, other than creating a new table to store the DNI value along with the customer ID.

I recently needed to make the backoffice have the darkmode functionality but I wanted to do it in such a way that it can be supported for all future versions of Prestashop and after a while I came up with the idea of implementing it using Dark Reader inside a simple and light module for Prestashop 1.7.x.x.

General features:

This module lets you assign a customer or customer group to an employee. The employee will only see his/her assigned customers, and no other customers. So if you have customers that often return to your shop, but should only be managed by one of your employee's and it's private, this is your module!
If you are logged in as the SuperAdmin you can see all the customers and employee's.

Installation:

After the installation and enabling the module, any employee that is not a Superadmin will only see his/her assigned customers and orders. If you don't make any links, the other employees wont be able to see any customers or orders. So if you have not configured the module any other employees will not see anything at al!

We recommend making a special employee profile for your Personal Salesmen (Advanced parameters > Team > Profiles). In order to have the module work, every employee should have the permission: View & Configure to the Personal Salesmen module.

If the permission is not set the profile of your employees the filters won’t work.

If you are using the Prestashop Multistore function, please make sure upon installing the module that you have all the stores selected. (in de right upper corner) If you have not, the module will not function properly.

How to use:

As show in the image below, you can add and remove links. Once you have created a link this employee will be able to everything to the selected customer as set in the employee profile permissions.

By clicking on the red trashcan you can delete a link between any employee and his/her group or customer. (Before PS 1.7.7 you can only delete all the links of employees)

You can also link employees to a customer group. This makes it really easy to assign employees to multiple users at once.

  As shown in the image below you can link the employee to a customer group. This means in the future if you set a customer to a group, this will automatically be visible to the linked employee. This is a really great function for B2B to, for company's that have a responsible employee per department.

Other languages:

If you are not using English as main language for your shop, you should manually copy the folder mails/en and replace the en for the language you are using in the backoffice. For example there is a folder mails/nl for the nl language.
