On average we have about 32 orders a month which is good considering how low we were before switching to Prestashop (about 1-3 a month) but its still not enough.

We get about 1500 hits a month so that is a pretty poor conversion rate.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how we can improve our conversion rate or even how to improve our search engine optimisation as we're still ranked quite low on Google?

Suggestions for other changes are welcome too but our main focus right now is improving the conversion rate.

Although I'm not sure how many of you would be interested in our products we'd happily give out a few vouchers to people we think have been extremely helpful.

I have been developing an online store for almost one year. We had a huge upgrade in April, and now it's time for another upgrade that I have been working on for the past month.

I'd like to share it here and get some feedback, the reason is I work alone for the company, and there is no developer team here, therefore no one has ever commented on my work, except for poor customers who got stuck on some pages and called the customer service ?

It's just a demo and still not completed, on the other hand as I mentioned I'm the one and only developer here, so please take a deep breath before giving me emotional damage

Technical Details For Developers and Merchants:

• I've made around 60 custom modules for this website and most of them are only available in the back office.
• There are some specific modules for the front office too, but I'm adding them one by one.
• The old version of the website runs on version 1.7 and the demo is using 8.1.2
• Currently, there are three main modules installed
  • Mobile Login
    • Use mobile to create an account and log in
    • No need for passwords, just use OTP
    • Skip the personal information step on the order page when the user is logged in to simplify the checkout flow
  • Google Map Address Form
    • Adds a map in the address form
    • Shows only two fields, Address and Phone
    • Other fields are hidden and filled automatically based on the location selected
    • Users can search on the map and also by typing the address
    • A GEOJSON layer is added to the map that holds details about carriers
    • When a user selects a location, the map adds coordinates, place ID, and the carrier of that location to the address
    • This way we skip the delivery step and select the carrier automatically to simplify the checkout flow
  • Automatic Geo Locator
    • This module uses the CloudFlare header variables
    • Having that detected country from CloudFlare, sets the country, and currency for the user
    • Having these modules reduces the checkout steps from 4 to 2 and for this region and business it makes sense, maybe in others, it doesn't make sense

These two modules don't add any overrides

I have just managed to setup my shop and almost ready to go live. While testing it, I see there is an option to subscribe for newsletters. I used test email ID to subscribe to the newsletter from the site frontend, and while I see the count of Newsletter Registration correctly show as 2, I don't see the email IDs or even the way to send out news letters.

I am assuming this is because I am new to Prestashop and not aware where I should be searching. Could someone please point me to the right direction for this?

P.S I am using prestashop v8.1.0

Reported error is:

Update your robots.txt file to allow user-agents "Googlebot" and "Googlebot-Image" to crawl your site

But robots.txt is "wide open" (attachement).

I've tried many methods, rebuilding robots.txt, leaving it "wide open" for crawler, different nginx rules, plesk repair etc. There are still 404 errors in the log and list of rejected url at google is raising

I migrate my prestashop 1.6.20 shop from one server to another one copying the FTP and BDD both are on php 7.1: On the admin part all is working but not the client access where the page is empty ... error 500 ? or I don't know.

I'm getting a blank page on both my frontend and backend. I have disabled smarty from the database because I dont have access to the backend.
Is there something else I can do? How can I disable completely smarty cache and compile files?

how do you manage the paypal account of the client who wants to create an online store? Do you ask for the password to manage it yourself, or do you ask the client to enter their password so that you do not have access?

i install new one PS1.7.7.1 and disable the cache, because the randomly method not worked.

If i enable "Randomly display featured products" it work fine with 8 demo products. But when i import lot of products, the home page opening 13-15 seconds!

This happens with only 8 number of products to be displayed and about 500 featured (1500 total). If i disable Randomly display, it work fine again (loaded for 1.2s).

So, maybe it have some error in the algorithm. In 1.6.2.4 both settings, with the same products, worked without delay.

First of all I am sorry if the topic is in a wrong place, please move it to the correct section if needed.

I am working with a provider that has more than 10.000 products in stock. However, my idea is to include just one specific catagory form it, that means, only arround 3.000 products. The CSV file form the provider is beeing updated daily so I am importing a new CSV file with products also daily. The problem is that in the CSV they are including all 10.000 products and when I am importing it, the existing 3.000 IDs are being updated but other 7.000 new products are being created. 

I would like to know how can I import the CSV and filter only by the products that are already in my catalogue and skip the ones that are not there. Basically I would like to select 3.000 products and update only those 3.000 daily. I know there might be modules and other stuffs to do this, but my idea is to do it without any extra costs.

I've added a dark mode to it, and tried to optimise for mobile.

I just created a prestashop 1.7 site around 4 to 5 month ago, I feel very great using this. Very easy to use and manage.

But after time I feel like my home page creating Some Issues, My Home Page is loading very slow, but rest of the pages are working fine.

i have had a couple of people complain that they couldnt use the checkout easy enough on a mobile, so i have sort of designed the site with mobile in mind, do you think i should have a seperate theme for that?

This is my first Prestashop store that I have customized to this level. I created a custom child theme and have implemented a few features:

- add a custom header/menu/footer

- simplify the layout as much as possible

- tweak the colors throughout Prestashop

- put a fair amount of focus into SEO for the launch. I plan to continue to enhance pages as I go such as better descriptions

- implemented a script to to add the product title/order button to the top of the browser - saving the need to purchase a module

I'm still working on some final tweaks before I enable caching/optimize the speed a bit.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and please be as brutal and honest as you like. I welcome honest feedback and will not be offended.

I'm selling Photography & Computer Hardware and more on proPCH.

For MacBooks I offer customization, for that I use the prestashop combinations.

For 1 unique MacBook I have roughly 8 combination, each with stock 1 and different price. Sometimes I sell the same unique Laptop thrice a day.

Although more money in my account is nice to have, I cannot fulfill two of the three orders. Which means more backorders, more angry customers, more customer support.

Prestashop customizations is out of the question, I need a custom price for each different upgrade.

What I need are variants with central stock management (same stock for all variants). A unique item can only be sold once. I will put up a bounty of $100.

I'm open for any other suggestions about improvements and feel free to report any bugs you may encounter. I will also review your store in exchange.

It might be of help for increasing sales in a seamless way.

I wanted FO is the dollar($) and the BO is the South Korea won(￦).

I can use the currency of about 5~6.

I need to select from 5 to 6 currency on FO
So I tried to solve the problem by referring to the forum posts.

But nothing happens.

So I bought a modules at prestaheroes.

It is bit of hybrid store as cart has been removed, as you can notice, but product prices are displayed.

Only thing that annoy me currently is resolution of banners on home page. They are not sharp and I can not figure out why. I used high res photos and I tried different banner sizes, as well as native size as Prestashop recommend, but I just can not get sharp looking banners.

If anyone has any input regarding banners, or web site in general, please let me know.

Some tips:

• You can filter products by tractor model. Either click on Browse Tractor or enter a model in the search box "2850, 6320..." on the right. John Deere models are designated with 4-digit numbers (2xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx...). The search box is ajax enabled.
• You can search on OEM references. Examples are: RE68316, RE68230, AL38557...

i made my firt p´Prestashop but don't think that i will keep on using it.

The only reason i put it in here is to show others that based on the "Starter Theme" it is possible to mix Prestashop with any type of framework. Thanks Prestashop for this.

I've finally started uploading content gradually to my store. It's a long foggy road faced with many many many errors and petty problems especially when you're new to PS.  

I sometimes feel bad when I come up to the forum looking for help, it looks like you're on every topic asking questions and interrupting but how else can you learn? we all started as newbies.

I've been using Etsy, facebook, twitter and word of mouth to advertise my site. (still learning the ins and outs of using social media to promote, and I'm getting better) I've had what I would consider decent site views, 564 unique visitors this month alone so far, but none have registered, signed up for newsletter, or converted to a sale. 

I know I need more products (they're in the works), and I'd like to find a way to change the word "Home" on the link bar to say "menu" to aid in mobile browsing. 

Can you give any advice?

I've been having problems with my e-commerce lately. I noticed a few days ago that I have been getting lots of abandoned carts. When I checked them out I saw that every day I get like 10 carts or so with always the same product (there are times when the cart contains many copies of this very same product).

I've been checking the forums for a solution but all that I could find was people complaining about this same problem but their abandoned carts were always at the same hour. Mine are randomly spread during the day or night. 

I tried to block some known bots but I don't see any improvements. I'm getting the same amount of abandoned carts with the same product. 

Any help with this?
