My second company is a VAT payer, there I have set tax rules in settings -> international -> taxes. But with "only" OSS mode in my 1st company, I don't know how to proceed and although I'm not an amateur, I'm somehow not able to keep track of relevant modules or advice.

We have a website where orders with a valid VAT number should remove the VAT. They should be created with the proper prices/taxes
We tested several modules and can get the actual business logic to work, as long as Vies returns proper data.

However, some member states have rate limits or maintenance periods, which means addresses can't be flagged as valid before order creation => created orders include taxes => the merchant has to jump through hoops to re-validate and trigger a new calculation of the order taxes/prices. The customers also receive the erroneous values.

Has anyone found a satisfactory solution to this?

Our web-page is in English and now I'd like to translate our site to other languages. I'm doing this for the first time in Prestashop (8.2).

I don't understand the correct process - If I add the language and turn it on, I can translate to it, but the language is visible to customers and search engines. I don't want to show half translated pages - I want to translate first then turn the language ON (since translation will take a while). How can I do this?

If I turn the other language off I can't translate? ....

I have Prestashop 8.2.1. And in mails/en and mails/bg Bulgarian language Templates.

The store is set to use as main language and only Bulgarian, in spite of this all mails are send in English.

I even have tried to rename the template directory from en->bg, but It continues to use English.

I also know about Locations -> Countries -> (country) -> "Do you need a tax identification number?" toggle
and I have turned it on for my country.

But.. during registration (Company and) Identification Number are still optional?

Makes sense since the country of the person registering is not yet known, but then

a) what is the above mentioned toggle good for and
b) is there a way to require (as in do not proceed without filling it in) the VAT Identification number during registration?

I imported the New Zealand localisation pack. Everything seems right below in the Configuration and Advanced sections. However there are a couple of errors in the Local units section:

• Distance unit: should be km, not mi
• Dimension unit: should be cm, not in

Could Google Translate be used automatically?

The user does not have to choose part of the translation automatically

For example a product is 1000 euro ex vat, 125 euro inc vat (the swedish vat is 25% so its 25€ vat).

If someone from Germany orders prestashop calculates 19% from the 100€ leaving the price for German customers to 119€.

We want to keep all prices inc vat the same regardless of which EU-country. So for Germany we would want the price to be 125€ for the german customers as well, but the vat should only be 19% (105€ ex vat, 125€ inc vat).

But Prestashop calculates the price to 119€ (adding 19% vat on the original product price ex vat).

We want to keep same price in all eu-countries but then our profit will be a bit different depending on the local vat.

Anyone who know how to solve this instead of creating individual pricing rules for each country for  all products?

In Canada is very popular e-Transfer Payment.

Simmilar to Zelle in USA.

But Prestashop do not have option for e-Transfer payment.

I use Pay by Check. Just few tweaks mostly language and looks ok. Tested and works fine.

The problem is applicable to all orders in the "order history" view tab only.

PDF Invoice, Order, and emails are summing the VAT accurately. But for some reason the VAT is not added to the Total Order Value when viewing the order via the "order history tab"

According to EU law, both seller's and buyer's VAT id must be on the invoice and both have to make the IntraStat where the VAT number is also needed - right now it doesn't show on the invoice and I cannot find a registered customer's VAT number anywhere in the customer information?

Can't use Ecotax since this is global and calculated for every country.

This tax is local and needs only to be added to an article with the corresponding tax rule.

Found a  module "Prestashop module for tax creation", but it only support up to version 1.7.6.8.

I have set tax rate 25% on my site and have config that in Presta admin and also config that i want it to show exkl. tax in the front.

Still it shows inkl. tax on the product page. But the price is exkl. tax. See attached images.

A Privacy Policy generator (iubenda) says that both an UK english and an US english version must be provided: really??

US and UK privacy laws certainly differ in some way, does this mean that two separate english-written Policies must be provided?

I just realised that any product with a discount price applied does not display the price properly if it's for a customer with a different tax rule than standard.

For example for a customer in Peninsula of Spain where VAT is 21% and including this tax in the following example:

450€ (21% tax included)  Tv with a specific discount price of 175,02€ ( tax included) displays a purchase price of 274,98€

Now if I log as a customer from the canary island where we have to tax at 0% rate the 274,98€ tv product displays as 196,88€ instead of the 227,26€ I am expecting to see.

The way prestashop displays this wrong pricing is because it calcutes it as follows:

450€ - 21% vat = 371,90€ - 175,02 discount price tax included = 196,88€

instead of deducting the net discount amount from the net rrp:

371,90€ ( 450€ / 1,21 ) - 144,64€ ( 175,02€ / 1,21 ) = 227,26€

Is anyway to fix or reconfigure this to avoid displaying all the web with wrong prices and loose money?

This worked totally fine in Presta 1.6, after the update to PS 8.1 it's a mess.

How do you guys handle international orders, am I missing out on something?

I found a mistake in the logic of module "UE Vat number" in prestashop addons:

Prestashop calculates the taxes controlling only one address: or shipping address or billing address (you choose in setting). This is a problem In European Union:

Prestashop should control the VAT number in the billing address, and the country where you ship in the shipping address.

For Example I'm an italian shop, and I've this customer:

- billing address                                                  - shipping address

Name: .................                                                Name: ...........................

Surname: ................                                            Surname: .................................

Company name: ........................                       Company Name: ............ or NULL

Vat Number: IT12345678901                           VAT Number: NULL

address: ....                                                         Address: .................................

Country: Italy                                                     Country: Spain

In this case Vat tax should be 0%, but if I set billing address about tax rules I've 22% Italy's Vat, if I use shipping address I've 22% Because there's not VAT number....

 if I make the order in the backend I can force the shipping VAT number to have 0%, but my customer in the front ??? to resolve it I've modified a lot of core's files, it's possible to fix this rules?

I'm working on a website running on Prestashop 8.0 and since I activated another language (there are two languages currently activated : french and english), I can't complete the payment process by wire.

When I click on the 'order' button of the 4th step of the checkout process, I go to the URL /fr/module/ps_wirepaymentvalidation
that doesn't exists and so display the 'this page doesn't exist' message.

I suspect that the /fr/ in the URL is a problem for the wirepayment module...

La tva sur les frais de port doit être la même que sur les produits, ainsi sur des épices à 5.5 % la tva des frais de port doit être à 5.5% 

Sur des produits à 20% la tva sur les frais de port doit être à 20%

Mais si dans une même commande il y a des produits à 20% et des produits à 5.5%, la tva sur les frais de port doit être au prorata.

Y aurait-il un module pour faire cela ?

I need to put comma for thousands and dot for decimals, for my customers in Peru. Peruvian pack is not 100% correct here, they use currency in that format.

Mais il affiche : Accueil / cart

En effet la traduction de "cart" n'apparait pas pourtant elle est bien dans traduction, mais le breadcrumb n'est pas fait pour être dans le panier.

Visiblement il manque une déclaration dans : /controllers/frontCartController.php mais je n'y arrive pas

All EU based companies have the same issue : we should apply VAT according to the "delivery address" of the customer. I do not sell B2B, by the way, so VAT should be charged always within EU destinations.

To destinations outside the EU, we do not charge VAT.

I m using prestashop 1.7.8.6 version and php 7.4. 

I m using third party payment module. And it was working fine in older version of prestashop. Upgrading into newer version, I m facing issue. 

After placing an order using third party payment module, the use got logged off automatically and redirecting to the prestashop. Instead of going success or failure pages. Have tried many solutions. But no luck. Seems, third party cooking are blocking. 

kind help to resolve this. I want user to be stay signed in, and need to redirect to the respect page. Please help.

I'm trying to use the new translation system on PS 8.1. The only way I got it working ever is using array with $this->l in module and hardcoding values, but that does not seem reasonable, so I tried the new one.

I am using for example this in my forms extending TranslatorAwareType:

The problem is that I can see the translations in admin, I can seemingly translate to another languages.

Steps:

• Translate in admin -> module translations
• Delete cache in back office, several times
• Delete cache manually
• Verify that translation is saved (load module trans again)
• ... Delete cache like hundred times, switch browser to ensure no browser cache is used
• Strings are shown in english only

Yet the only thing I can see is english. Other strings, like menu etc, is in correct language - the context is correct.

Hi everyone

Is there a way to have the product show it's prices with different taxes based on which language is selected?

Iv'e set up correct tax rules, but the tax of the products are only changing when choosing country in the cart. This is not how it should be, cause it will confuse visitors.

Ie. in France the tax is 20% and in Sweden it's 25%. If my default country is Sweden, all products will always show 25% tax on the price, until the customer go to the checkout and choose France. Then the price will be lower.

In this native case, all products with different taxes will have wrong prices and that is bad regarding to visitors, and Google SERP's will always show a higher price for countries with lower or higher tax that the default shop country.

Is there a solution for this?

I installed Deutsch (CH) in PS 1.7.8.6 and
after a few days of translating the content I noticed that the translation of the template is in English, when I wanted to go directly to the translations, they didn't even load after a long time of loading, so I deleted the language and installed it again, but the language is still in English, even though it's supposed to be German.

Does anyone know, please, where I should delete the records and then install the language Deutsch (CH) correctly so that it is in German?

po ppár dnech překládání obsahu jsem si všiml, že je překlad šablony v angličtině, když jsem chtěl jít přímo do překladů tak se po delším čase načítání ani nenačetli, tak jsem jazyk smazal a nainstaloval znovu, jenže ten jazyk je stále v angličtině, i když to má být němčina. 

Nevíte prosím někdo, kde všude mám smazat záznamy a pak čistě jazyk Deutsch (CH) nainstalovat správně tak, aby byl v němčině?

for completing my shipping system i need to have the followibng option - To exclude the additional cost of an item, when the shipping is chosen to be with My carrier - which should be totally free for some zones, which zones i have already adjusted. I mean only the additional cost for an item, because there is a price range for this carier, where is set that an order with value less than some amount will be charged with small shipping tax. This additional cost for item i will use for every other carrier, but i want to exclude it for each item in the order, when the order will be shipped by My carrier - which is free of charge and it is subject only to one minimum price range.

Can somebody help me adjust this, or inform me if it is possible with the backoffice of Presta 1.5.4.1.

Or if i have to rewrite some of the php files - please inform me which class or file should i change for giving me this result.

P.S. - I have made some correction of the explanation, as now it is more clear what exactly i would like to adjust. Because as far as i can see, i can not exclude only the additional cost separately, but al the shipping cost for one carrier.

Having issues with taxes.  I installed a simple test product to use for export to get correct CSV due to errors and when I add to cart it is always adding 7% tax even without knowing delivery address.

Cart should ONLY add tax to a Florida address but no address is even added yet and still the tax is added to price in the cart.

If I sold everything at once to anyone in any other state I would still never come close to threshold! LOL

I have a tax group I named US and a Tax rule within that group for Florida set at 7%

Am I missing something?

First of all, my prestashop version is 1.7.6

So the thing is that I am working in an existing page and they have different segments for cms urls. Let me explain with an example:

This is the url in catalan: https://www.florestore.com/ca/contingut/lliurament

And this one is in spanish: https://www.florestore.com/es/contenido/envio
 

Both are CMS id_cms = 1

So then the question is the following: Do you see how the language and cms segments in the url are changing?

- language segment: es or ca

- cms segment: contingut or contenido

The thing is that I cannot find the place to change this translation, either contingut or contenido in the store backend UI. if I go to Configure -> Store parameters -> Traffic and Seo I can get to a section in which I have the following:

Page routing: this is inside an input -> "content/{rewrite}"

However this is not offering any translation possibilities, neither I can find contingut or contenido here at all. No dropdown for language on this input.

How can it be possible the both pages are working and loading id_cms = 1 if none of the url segments fits on the configuration in Traffic and Seo? Where can I find the translation for this url segment? Clearly it should be somewhere...

My website has 2 languages French (fr) - Default and English.

When I choose "fr" from the language options, the website shows up in French. However, if I'm already on the French version and click the English (En) language option, only part of the website gets translated into English. But, if I click the English option again, then the entire website is translated into English.

The issue is with English language selector i did not find any issue related with translation with debug true.

On first click of English language selector some of the content shown using if (language_id_eng == xx) English else French endif

but string translated using {l s='Shopping Cart' d='Shop.Theme.Checkout'} are not translated along with header, sidebar, main body and footer.

The problem is with the English language option. I haven't found any issues when debugging is turned on. When I click the English language option for the first time, some content shows up in English, and it seems to depend on whether the language is English or French [ if (language_id_eng == xx) English else French endif ] . However, strings translated using "{l s='Shopping Cart' d='Shop.Theme.Checkout'}" and other parts like the header, sidebar, main body, and footer are not getting translated.

the taxes in the frontend are not displayed correctly, e.g. when I enter an article that is tax-free, it is still displayed in the detailed overview with taxes included or in the B2B area with VAT added.
How do I get rid of this, can I simply do this via if-query in the .tpl or is there a function in the backend that I simply can't find?

I'm trying to integrate products on my PrestaShop via API. When it comes to pricing, there is only one field, called price, to be assigned. When I assign a value to this field, on the backoffice, it shows two different text boxes, one called Tax Included, and another one called Tax Excluded. Whatever value I assign to 'price', both Tax Included and Tax Excluded are assigned the same value. Also, this value is not affected at all by which tax rule is applied to it. To add to it, whenever I try to manually change either Tax Included or Tax Excluded directly on the backoffice, it automatically changes the other one. I am wondering if there is no way of distinguishing both of these fields, as it makes a big mess when it comes to taxation.

We are located in the UK where tax is pretty simple - it's 20% VAT charged on all orders placed within the UK.

However, we are currently working on a PS1.7.8.5 store for a US based company (based in Florida). From our understanding the tax needs to be calculated on the delivery address at checkout (according to local state/city tax rate). 

We have enabled all state tax zones in international > VAT > tax rules. and tax rules are set to:

Enable tax - YES
Display tax in shopping cart - YES
Based on - Delivery Address
Eco tax - NO

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to implement a solution?  I've found a 3rd part called TaxCloud who claim to be able to be able to offer Real-Time API Sales Tax Calculation. But it comes in at £80pcm and there's no Prestashop integration available OTS, so we would need to develop one.

From back-office menu: International->Translations there are no PDF translation option to choose.

PrestaShop doesnt calculate taxes at all. In the product if I enter the price without taxes, it shows the same price incl. taxes. Taxrule is set.

In the shopping cart it shows taxes $0.00. 

I checked that tax rules are applied, taxes are in the system, customer settings says taxes excl. (doesnt matter if I incl. them, same effect.

I am right now absolutely helpless... Shouldnt on the Product page, by pricing the tax be calculated?

but when i hit edit the page is not properly loaded

I'm using Prestashop 1.7.6.4 with PHP 7.3.27, i searched for information about this i didn't really find anything useful, i found something about files permissions but when i tried changing the translation folders and files permissions nothing changed same error, i found also something about PHP version tried changing from 7.3 to 7.2 but that didn't work either.

Any idea on how can i solve this please ?

Could someone tell me where do I find the Front Office Translations? There's no such an option in the translations page in a first dropdown. There are: Backoffice, Themes, Installed and so on. Or if there's another place for that option?

I can't translate some words in my back office. When I type the translation it simply won't save it. Other words were translated ok and with no problem.

Does anyone have a solution?

I have a form that I'm trying to translate but it doesn't show me the input fields. What could it be, how can I fix it? I have max_input_var set to 12000, should I increase it? Or what could it depend on, what can I check?

The problem occurs only in the Cashondeliverywithfee_intro section (view attachment) where obviously there is the translation string that interests me to change.

I'm struggling with a site with perfectly functioning 1.7.3 prestashop.

My problem is that having to perform tests for the inclusion of discount codes I realized that in the cart

on the right instead of the word "discount" I find the word "discount" and I can not find the way to translate it.

Surely it will be a trivial thing but in the translations I looked but I can not find the module where it is.

Some pious soul can help me since it will be a bullshit?

I don't know what happened but now I'm not receiving the order_conf.html email in English, but in my other language which is Portuguese I receive the email.

In other words, if I'm on the site making an order in English, I won't receive the email, but if it's in Portuguese, I will.

What could it be? What can I do to fix this?

- setup all relevant EU member state tax rates for the different products 'types' that I sell
- setup tax rules for the different products types that I sell 'grouping' the correct tax rates for each EU member state
- and indicated that the tax rate is chosen based on the delivery address

all works fine and taxes are correctly calculated as they should be based on the above setup.

All was working fine until I came across an order today from a German customer who wants to pickup the goods himself in our physical store in Belgium... 

So instead of calculating & adding German VAT to this order (VAT rate selected based on the German delivery address), Prestashop should have, after the selection of the 'carrier' Local Pickup, switched to & apply the Belgian VAT rate for the order.

Has anyone else come acress this situation, and how did you fix it?

A stupid workaround would be to ask the customer to create a Belgian delivery address and select that one during the checkout to switch to the Belgian VAT rate, but this is not an acceptable solution for me. 

I own an online store focused on green energy and photovoltaic systems. The government introduced another VAT tax for consumers, 5% to be exact.
Until now, these products had a standard VAT value of 19%. But the problem is that only consumers benefit from 5% VAT, while companies have 19%.
At the moment, all products in the catalog related to green energy have a 5% VAT rule.
I need help or a suggestion to be able to offer companies the opportunity to order, but they must be charged 19% VAT.
Any suggestion or solution is welcome. I'm sure solution is out there but I can't see it. 

P.S. these VAT regulations are available only for Romania, all the customers that land on the page if they are from outside Romania, they will not be allowed to order.

• Add special price(excluding tax) for a customer group.
• On checkout and email, the customer from the exempt group must not see tax included.
• Other customers can see tax normally.

I know a bit about the prestashop code and structure. I'm looking for a way to modify it within the code if not possible through the panel. Any ideas would be appreciated.

In the breakdown of the invoice, the 0% VAT does not appear, this requirement is requested by the agency for accounting.

I do have a strange problem while trying to translate some content related to the Prestahop Blog (check screenshot).

The error is quite strange. The translation section mentions that I do have some string to translate but they don´t show them to be translated.

I tried to clear the cache in both server and browser but still did not work.  I tried to find the strings directly on the ps_translation table and they are translated but the site still shows them in english.

Any hint on how to translate them?

I have translated the subjects emials wtih the prestashop translator module.

But it doesn't work because the subjects of my emials are in English.

The bodies are correct in each language.

Is there another way to do this?

My prestashop version is 1.7.8.1

I looked in the Translations area but could no find where I can edit the subject line:  "Awaiting bank wire payment"

I was able to locate where to adjust the content of the email but not the subject.

I am doing this to modify the wording of "wire" payment option to "e-transfer" where I only require customer t send payment to an email address.  I do not share any bank details.   In Canada th e-transfers are processed by a system called Interac.

Ideally I would like to add this as a separate payment method and keep wire, but wire payments.
